Terms and Conditions

By purchasing services from Rescue Ready Learning you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Definitions

a. “Attendee or candidate” is a person who is booked to attend a course.
b. “Contract” is these terms and conditions, the application form which is completed by the customer and the booking confirmation issued by Rescue Ready Learning to the customer.
c. “Course and/or services” is a first aid course, a lifeguard course or any similar course organised and run by Rescue Ready Learning.
d. “Customer” is the purchaser of services, being either an organisation or an individual, and where the context so requires “customer” also includes attendees and/or candidates.
e. “Group Course” is a course booked by an organisation, for the benefit of its staff or other members of the organisation and held at a location chosen by the organisation.
f. “Individual” is a person who attends a scheduled course.
g. “Organisation” is a customer that is a company, organisation, or other group that books a group course or books places for individuals on a scheduled course.
h. “Scheduled Course” is a course held at a venue chosen by Rescue Ready Learning on which members of the public can book a place, and on which organisations can book one or more places for their members or staff.
i. “Venue” means a location hired by the Rescue Ready Learning on behalf of the customer to facilitate a group course.

2. Payment

a. An individual who books a place on a scheduled course must make payment by the latest on the first day of the course. Rescue Ready Learning reserves the right to not allow an individual to continue if payment is not received by the end of the first day of the course.
b. An Organisation that books a group course or books places for individuals on a scheduled course will be issued with an invoice which the organisation must pay in full before the course start date.
c. Rescue Ready Learning reserves the right to withhold certificates until full payment has been cleared.
d. A booking is only confirmed when either an agreed upon deposit or payment in full is received. In certain cases a booking may be confirmed without payment when put in writing by Rescue Ready Learning.

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

a. Rescue Ready Learning may cancel or reschedule a course at any time.
b. If Rescue Ready Learning cancels a course, we will inform the customer of this immediately and will give the customer the option of attending the next available course. If there is no suitable alternative available you will be issued a full refund of any money paid to us directly. Rescue Ready Learning is not liable for any other losses or expenses incurred.
c. Rescue Ready Learning does not accept any responsibility for certificates which expire because of a cancelled course.
d. Cancellations, requests to reschedule a course or requests to substitute an individual on a scheduled course can be made by phone on 07949860414 or email info@rescuereadylearning.com

4. Cancellations by an Organisation

a. If an organisation cancels a group course giving less than 5 working days notice before the course start date, the organisation will pay the full course fee.
b. If an organisation cancels a group course giving more than 5 working days notice before the course start date, the organisation is subject to the terms and conditions of the venue.
c. If an organisation cancels bookings for individuals on a course giving less than 5 working days notice before the start date, the organisation will pay the full course fees.

5. Cancellations by an Individual

a. An individual may cancel a place on a course at any time up to 5 working days before the course start date.

6. Rescheduling of Group Course

a. An organisation may reschedule a group course without charge, provided that Rescue Ready Learning receives the request at least 5 working days before the start date of the initial group course.
b. If a request to reschedule a group course is received fewer than 5 working days before the group course start date, the organisation will incur a charge of 50 per cent of the initial group course fee.

7. Course Timing and Booking Confirmation

a. Rescue Ready Learning will email a booking confirmation including information about course timings, etiquette and other helpful information.
b. If the booker does not receive a booking confirmation, it is the responsibility of the booker to contact Rescue Ready Learning by phone 07949860414 or email info@rescuereadylearning.com to arrange for the booking confirmation to be re-sent.
c. It is the responsibility of the booker to ensure that the candidate is fully briefed and made aware of the instructions about attendance and all other course requirements
before attending the course.

8. Attendance

a. Candidates must attend and complete all aspects of the course to qualify for certification.
b. The full cost of the course will be charged for candidates who arrive late or are absent from all or part of the course. This applies even if the candidate is refused admittance due to lateness.
c. At the discretion of Rescue Ready Learning, if an insufficient number of candidates attend any one day, the course or part of the course may be postponed or cancelled in accordance with these terms and conditions.

9. Responsibility

a. Rescue Ready Learning has an equality and special considerations policy. Please contact info@rescuereadylearning.com if you would like more information.
b. Please bring any medical conditions or learning disabilities that may affect your ability to complete a course to the attention of the trainer before the course starts. Rescue Ready Learning will make all reasonable adjustments for this during our courses. We will not exclude anyone from our training but reserve the right to ensure all reasonable adjustments are in place to meet our statutory obligations.
c. Rescue Ready Learning does not provide any specialist equipment and/or personnel such as signers or translators; however these can be sourced at the customer’s own cost.
d. The duties of a first aider and/or lifeguard can be physically demanding. All candidates must be:
– physically able to provide colleagues with first aid, e.g. able to kneel on the floor, administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and help lift/roll casualties,
– free from any condition that will affect their participation in the course and their capability to carry out the duties of a first aider,
– reliable, with the necessary disposition and communication skills,
– able to cope with stressful and physically demanding emergency procedures,
– with regards to any lifeguard courses, the candidate must meet the prerequisites required for the respective course,
– minimum 16 years old.
e. Candidates who are unable to meet the above requirements or fail to meet the preset assessment criteria for a course will not be awarded a certificate.

10. Recertification

a. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they hold a relevant certificate for the said recertification course. Rescue Ready Learning may ask for proof of this.
b. If Rescue Ready Learning issues a certificate to a candidate on successful completion of a recertification course and subsequently finds out that the candidate did not complete the initial training, the relevant agency will be contacted and the recertification certificate will be invalid, regardless of the success of the candidate at the recertification course.

11. Insurance

a. Rescue Ready Learning holds professional liability and public liability insurance.
b. Rescue Ready Learning does not accept any liability for loss or damage to personal property whilst on a course.

12. Data protection

a. Rescue Ready Learning may use photos and course statistics for social media and marketing purposes. Please advise us if you would prefer not to be involved in this.
b. In the application form for a course, the customer will give to Rescue Ready Learning the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of the booker and candidates, and details of any medical conditions or special considerations that might affect the participation of a candidate on a course.
c. Personal data will be used by Rescue Ready Learning for the purpose of course administration only. This includes sharing personal data information with the awarding organisation(s).
d. Rescue Ready Learning will notify the customer immediately if Rescue Ready Learning believes any breach or unauthorised disclosure of personal information has occurred.
e. Rescue Ready Learning will destroy all personal data relating to the contract, using a secure method when it is no longer needed for the services. Rescue Ready Learning must keep this data for a minimum of 7 years in order to comply with the awarding organisations regulations.
f. Contact details supplied to Rescue Ready Learning will not be passed on to third parties.
g. The customer can request details of the personal information that Rescue Ready Learning holds about the customer under the Data Protection Act 2018.

13. Complaints

a. If the customer has any complaint about any of the services which Rescue Ready Learning provides, the customer should contact info@rescuereadylearning.com and request the complaints policy.
